Vestvågøy er et åpent kunstgalleri i ordets videste betydning. I løpet av de siste 20 år er kommunen tilført en rekke nye kunstverk og flere gallerier. Både i det offentlige rom, i naturen og inne i både offentlige og private bygg kan samtidskunst gi opplevelse til våre sanser.

I det følgende beskrives de viktigste stedene for kunstopplevelse i Vestvågøy, fra nord til sør, med avstikkere både øst og vest.

Art in the Borough of Vestvågøy:

The island borough of Vestvågøy is an open gallery in the broadest sense of the term. Over the past 20 years, a number of new works of art have arrived on the scene and several new galleries have opened their doors. In public places, in the countryside and in both public and private buildings, contemporary art can now stimulate our senses.

On the following pages you will find a description of the most important locations in Vestvågøy where the public can experience art, from north to south, with detours to both east and west.
